Cooking for Idiots – Learning simple recipes for the average Joe and Jane

Singapore, 23 January 2013 – Seven Mass Communication students from Republic Polytechnic who share a passion for cooking but have no talent whatsoever, started a do-it-yourself cooking blog in conjunction with the RP Blogger Challenge 2013.

Cooking for Idiots was founded and managed since November 2012. It all started with a random conversation on what to eat for lunch.

The team of seven students gave themselves different food personas:

The personas each represented the team members' personality and favourite food. Together with their mission to help fellow idiots learn to cook, the team works to craft easy and affordable Do-It Yourself recipes in the form of articles and videos.

Prior to their conversation, the team dedicated their first DIY video and titled it, ‘Cooking in School’ which is also the most viewed post in the blog.

"I feel that the whole idea behind starting a "do - it -yourself" cooking blog was so that we could inject our own personalities into the content we provide. The individual characters gave us a better sense of belonging and interest to continue posting because we love what we are doing!" said the editor of Cooking for Idiots, Mohammed Noor B Talat Mahmood.

On February 6th this year, Cooking for Idiots and its competitors will be judged in the RP Blogger Challenge 2013 by a panel of judges comprising some of Singapore’s most prominent bloggers including LadyIron Chef.
